Great and very fast service, cute little spot with amazing soft serve ice cream! I am obsessed with the ube ice cream and crunchy taiyaki, might have to come back and try other flavors. The ice cream is soooo soft and not overly sweet, melts super fast. For the macarons, I liked the ube but the others were way too sweet for me.
The food is great here! I tried the miso and ube swirl soft serve. It was good, but I prefer Somi Somi in Houston for their Ube. My favorite items here were the coconut Pandan and black sesame mochi doughnuts. I didn't know what to expect, but they were like cake doughnuts except actually good. Moist and had a nice chew, without being gummy. The downsides are all the flies buzzing over the doughnuts while they sit on a rack--not a fan of that at all. Also, it's a tiny place, so the seating is all outdoors. I'll be looking to try more mochi doughnuts in the future and would recommend checking this place out if you're in the Austin area.
DUUUUDE! I mean, what to say? The ice cream and macaroons here are sooooo good! Drool-worthy, delicious, all the things! Ube flavor is always on point, and honestly, any ice cream in the fish shaped sweet cones tastes great. I could eat about a dozen of the fish-shaped soft cones and I'd die happy. Any of the swirl flavors I've had with Ube have been delicious, so it's really all about your palette, but you really can't go wrong with the Ube to start with in a soft fish-shaped cone. DELIIISH. Get here early in the day so you can make sure you get the flavor you want. If you arrive here later in the afternoon towards the evenings, it's going to be slim pickins on choices, but anything you order is delicious and tasty! After 2pm and into early evening and flavors are regularly sold out. Macaroons are to die for as well! soft, delicious, fresh, fluffy, slight crisp in texture, great flavor in the middle, portioned just right as well. The only other macaroon's I've had so far that rival them is up in Cedar Park at Whipped. Other than that, not sure what other Austin bakeries have better macaroons! Ice cream is always firm but not hard nor mushy nor melty. Consistency is king here and flavor is always the same. Great taste, great flavor, good quality and well worth the price. Standing in line is a bit tight and squished indoors, so just bear that in mind. Hard to even fit beyond 12-15 people in line inside the store at one time without feeling a bit squeezed, so be prepared to stand outside if you come during rush hour. Again, well worth the wait and one of the best delicious dessert spots in Austin! Just wish they would sell the fish-shaped cones in like packs of 10. They would be sold out in seconds Go now to eat! I'm dreaming of my next visit already
Honestly my favorite spot in Austin for ice cream. Delicious, cute, and unique!! Always friendly staff. One of those places I will always say yes to go to!!
I've been wanting to this place forever and finally got the chance to since they close later on weekends! There's a bit of parking in the front of the establishment but if you drive down the street there's also a small dirt lot on the other side of the road. The line inside was long but not too bad, it gives you enough time to look at the menu. I got the mango lassi and ube swirl taiyaki sundae ($8.50 and comes with a filling like custard or red bean plus one topping). The ube was delicious but the mango lassi was not as flavorful as I was hoping. The fish bread was different than I expected (it seemed like it was made of rice flour) but still yummy! The strawberry cream flavor soft swirl also looked good but those that were with me said that it was more cream than strawberry, and that you couldn't taste the strawberry as much. There's only seating in the outdoor covered area, wish they had a larger location. I will definitely be coming back and bringing more friends!
Went on a whim and loved it! We ordered the ube soft serve sundaes with Nutella filled taiyaki ($8.50 ea), cereal milk soft serve ($5.50) a boba drink ($5), and a mochi donut (I *think* I paid for this but didn't get it? My kids were distracting me and I'm pretty sure I ordered it but totally possible my brain malfunctioned.) The soft serve is DELICIOUS. Like, epically delicious I enjoyed both the Ube and cereal milk flavor, next time I want to try the black sesame and brown sugar tea. 10 out of 10. I used to go to a place in LA that had Melona soft serve taiyaki and I'm hopeful to find it here in Austin, just a selfish suggestion for a future flavor.... lol The boba drink was very tart, too tart maybe? I love yuzu but it felt very heavy on yuzu and it overpowered the drink. The boba was super delicious and chewy though. I would give this a 6 out of 10. I won't be ordering it again but I will definitely try some of their other options. The location is a little out there and for a split second I was sure my gps was leading me astray and then I saw the cute pink and black storefront. They have 4 booths in front with a long bench on each side. They don't sell water but they offer free water cups which is nice. I really like all the cuteness and the colorful maneki neko options. So tempted to get some for the house!!! Service was friendly and if you're planning a visit try to get there earlier in the day so you don't run into any sold out items. Total was $31.39 and I added a 20% tip on top of that. It's a little pricey but worth it.
Absolutely adorable! So many great options for such a small shop. Love being able to get ube flavored items. The texture of the ice cream was top tier. We also took home some different macaroons that were delicious. We visited later in the day on a Friday so understandably a lot of things were running low or out. They do have some seating inside and benches outside with fans. They have a small parking lot, but that works decently because most customers are running in and out for the most part and we had no difficulty with it.
What an absolutely delightful place! I'm obsessed with ube and they do it justice with many different types of drinks and desserts that boldly feature ube: ube milk, ube taiyaki soft serve, ube matcha, ube macarons, and much more! The drinks weren't overly sweetened, and I really enjoyed them. We did have an issue with one of our drinks not tasting right, something was off. But the staff kindly and quickly resolved the issue and we were so happy and grateful.
A very chill Friday evening visit to OMG Squee. Got the strawberry cream/ube swirl soft serve with the famous fish cookie (red bean filling). The ice cream had phenomenal texture, very silky and smooth but also frozen firm and slow to melt. I was expecting it to be a little cloyingly sweet, but it was actually perfectly balanced. Wish they had allowed samples, as I got to taste my friend's brown sugar milk tea flavor which was my overall favorite. Also wish they had more flavors (and updated their website/social media to be current)... but those are minor gripes. I'll definitely be back!
